Is Your Child Gifted?

Do you see areas what your child learns quickly and excels? Maybe YOUR child is gifted.

After working as public school Gifted and Talented Specialist, I can assure you that each and every child has areas of strengths that can be cultivated into a gift.

Whether or not your child has an exceptional IQ, your child can use certain thinking strategies and learning exercises to turn a strength into a gift.  Here are 3 ideas to get you started:

Blog Buttons Blue Dot with 1  Let your child choose what strengths to practice.

When your child is interested AND motivated, their focus, attention span, and perseverance will keep them going when they struggle.  These are KEY to learning.

Blog Buttons Blue Dot with 2  Set them up for success with small, manageable steps.

It is easy for kids to get overwhelmed and want to quit. They see adults making things look so easy! Remind your child that you didn’t learn to drive a car or cook a meal in just one day. Show them how we adults still practice because we want to keep getting better, not be perfect.

Blog Buttons Blue Dot with 3  Validate your child’s efforts for trying, rather than analyze their progress.

Comments like, “I can see you are practicing a lot today!” or ” Wow, you must be feel proud of what you are doing!”

By supporting your child’s efforts and practice, you will be amazed to see how much they learn!
