What does it really mean to THRIVE?

Thriving sounds good, but… how in the world does that work?

Obviously, it’s more than just surviving.

Thriving means that you and your kids are GROWING and flourishing in learning, play and in LIFE!

It is about finding your balance of teaching the basics while providing opportunities for your kids to thrive as humans.

And…. I will tell you the secret:

It is ALL based on using thinking skills.

I am a Gifted and Talented Specialist turned homeschooler.

In my classroom, I helped kids learn beyond the basics.

In my home, we have fun learning together every single day.

I want my kids – your kids – ALL kids – to enjoy learning and truly thrive to reach their potential.

Showing kids how to use thinking skills is one of my favorite things to do!

Thinking skills are not a subject to teach,

but a life skill that is part of each day.

We can raise our children to pause and ponder, ask why things happen, explore, create, and make discoveries!

And… you can use thinking skills no matter what curriculum or life skill you are currently teaching.

I invite you to get on the wait list for your free copy of  The Thinking Kids Thrive Guidebook.

It has simple brain-based activities to use thinking skills with your child.  You can start using them right away – even in your normal daily conversations.

Thinking Kids Thrive Guidebook is ideal for anyone who:

  • supports kids in their learning of reading, math, and character
  • loves to use children’s books to teach lessons
  • enjoys using games and puzzles based around seasons and holidays
  • wants to bring fun and meaningful activities in kids’ learning experience
  • knows the importance of teaching kids to think on their own

Once you request The Thinking Kids Thrive Guidebook, I will email you about once a week with even more ideas you can use.

Of course, you will be the first to get The Thinking Kids Thrive Guidebook once it is released, too!

Official Bio

Amy Michaels, M.S.E.  is a certified elementary teacher turned homeschool consultant. She worked as a first grade teacher and as a Gifted and Talented Specialist for 11 years.

Amy is passionate about helping families raise smart kids who enjoy learning.  Her work is often featured on multiple homeschool blogs, as well as, Evan-Moor’s blog, The Joy of Teaching.

Through working with over a thousand kids (and several of their parents), Amy has inspired many families thrive in the areas of reading and math.

Check out her courses both kids and their parents, or click here to get on the wait list for her book, Thinking Kids Thrive (coming June 2018).

Most of all, Amy wants parents to enjoy the time they have with their children.

Amy stays quite busy with homeschooling her own 3 kids and working as an educational consultant. However, she always finds time for snuggles with her family and chocolate (gluten-free, of course).

She may or not have started this site to give her a reason to read picture books again and again. These are just a FEW of her absolute favorites (well…. so far)!
